Located 140 km north of Toulouse in a rural and tourist environment, the Maison des arts Georges and Claude Pompidou is a contemporary art centre which combines an exhibition space in Cajarc and an international artists’ residence, the Maisons Daura, in Saint-Cirq-Lapopie. The mission of the art centre is to support contemporary creation through the production and presentation of works by emerging or more established artists, with a constant concern to share the experience of art with the widest possible audience. The Maison des arts offers a program of exhibitions, artist residencies and off-site projects developed for the rural context of the Lot territory.
It obtained the “Contemporary art centre of national interest” label in 2018.
