DCA - Centres d'art en transition
Arts centers, actors in ecological transition, 2024. Visual identity : Atelier Pierre Pierre

What’s the environmental impact of an art centre? In which way can it adapt and transform itself to reduce it? And, most of all, which resources can its staff rely on in that respect?

Like all cultural actors, the art centres are faced with the double challenge of:

— On one hand, lowering their environmental impact, reducing their reliance on nonrenewable resources and adapt to a new environmental system.

— On the other, fulfilling their duty of supporting artistic creation and increasing its influence nationwide.

Convinced that this topic must be dealt with on a network level, DCA is making ecological transition one of its priority actions and is managing the environmental diagnosis of 5 contemporary art centres :

La Criée centre d’art contemporain in Rennes (Bretagne)

This study’s conclusions and guidelines are aimed at all the art centres of the network. They will be shared on the 25th and 26th of November 2024 on the occasion of the next contemporary art centres Professional Days.
